Community Involvement

Outside of the work space you can find me running, at music festivals, or visiting my family in my hometown of Batavia, IL. I even do some freelance design work and "just for fun" projects:

Grand Rapids Anniversary

2025 is the 175th anniversary of Grand Rapids! To celebrate, the City of Grand Rapids held a commemorative poster contest.

The prompt was simple: what does Grand Rapids mean to you?

My response is represented in the 18" x 24" poster to the right!

The title of my work is Bold Hues & Grand Views and depicts some of the most memorable characteristics of the city using only the 3 colors of the Grand Rapids flag.

Kautz & Company Painting

I recently had the opportunity to help a start-up painting company with some design work.

I worked directly with the owner to make tweaks to her original logo, create some road signs, and order several custom sweatshirts and t-shirts.

Together, we worked to ensure her company would get started off on the right foot and I'm excited to see it grow!

Candles!

Being a graphic designer comes with lots of quirks. One of these is my appreciation for the artwork on beer and soda cans! I'm guilty of buying products solely based on the artwork I see on the outside. The result? Usually dumping most of the beer down the drain... However, while I may have wasted the beverage, I can never get myself to toss out the can.

Cue KT's Candles! Upcycling these cans as candles is my way of honoring and appreciating the work of other graphic designers. While I try to stick to local breweries across Beer City, I do make some candles out of macrobrews and Coca Cola products.
